Jakob Lodwick & Minimum Wage

I have sat on the sidelines watching Jakob Lodwick weigh in on everything from the inefficiency of the public good to the need for any self-respecting blogger to disable their comments. I even bit my tongue as he put out a ridiculous casting call for unpaid interns to help fuel the little drama that he has going on in his apartment. Alas, his latest rant against minimum wage is the straw that broke the camel’s back.

I refuse to directly address his remarks on the grounds that any dialogue is impossible with a person who is unable to assign a minimum basic worth to a fellow human being. Instead, I can only offer a selection of my favourite responses to his latest insights, as they appear over at Gawker:

“Not only is Lodwick a douche, he is an asshole as well. That being said, his continual musings on ‘economics’ are quite entertaining in that he obviously has no idea what he is talking about. I just slogged through some of his Tumblr and it is hilarious. Did you know he invented psychotherapy?”

“What happened to this little nanopustule of entitlement? Did his cleaning lady ask for a raise?”

“What does he care how much companies pay actual workers? He’s gotten rich on a business model that requires users to provide him with massive amounts of content for free.”

“in his defense, the interview style allows him to be questioned by the one person on earth who’s actually interested in anything he has to say.”

The only thing I can suggest to Lodwick is that once he finds an unpaid internt of suitable caliber, perhaps he can have them design a website for Normative to replace the stupid placeholder that he insists on linking to every chance he gets.
