Sorry for all the FunnyOrDie.com videos

I’ve been posting a lot of videos from Will Ferrell’s video site, Funny or Die, because I figure it can use all the publicity it can get.  The site was started with a mere $17,000 in seed capital, and it generated enough of a buzz with it’s landlord video (53 million views and counting).  Enter the venture capitalists, who quickly threw another $15 million at the site.  Yet as Valleywag has sadly noted:

“despite attracting talent such as Bill Murray, Jenna Elfman, John C. Reilly, Jimmy Fallon, Jeremy Piven, John Mayer, and a writing staff of 30, “The Landlord” remains Funny Or Die’s only real hit. This despite 16,000 subsequent efforts by the company and its users. In fact, the video’s sequel and the site’s second biggest hit, “Good Cop, Baby Cop,” garnered just a tenth as many views.”
